WORKDAY HCM 360 DEGREE MASTERY COURSE
The One and Only Workday HCM Course that covers end-to-end HR Functions in Workday, Practically, at MOST AFFORDABLE FEES!
A Workday HCM course teaches you to run day-to-day HR work inside Workday Human Capital Management — the cloud HR system large companies use to manage hiring, employee records, payroll inputs, time and absence, compensation, benefits and talent from one place. At IHRA, Workday HCM is taught hands-on as part of the I-CGHR, a 4-month HR programme covering 60+ HR modules and 22+ HR software tools, available in the classroom in Bengaluru and as Live Online classes across India, with a 100% Placement Guarantee.
IHRA is an Advanced HR Training Institute with International Certification. This page explains what Workday HCM is, why employers run on it, exactly which Workday modules IHRA teaches, who the course suits, how it sits inside the I-CGHR, and what the certificate you receive does and does not mean. One point is worth stating up front: this is practical training on Workday HCM, delivered by an HR institute. It is not an official Workday-issued certification, and we do not describe it as one.

What Is Workday HCM?
Workday HCM (Human Capital Management) is a cloud-based HR system. A company’s HR team, managers and employees all log into the same platform, and every people process — from a job requisition to a final settlement — runs through it as a defined business process with approvals, records and reports attached.
In HR job descriptions you will usually see it written as “Workday”, “Workday HCM” or “Workday HRIS”. They mean the same system. Four features explain most of how it is used day to day:
Employee Self-Service
Employees update their own personal details, view the organisation chart, raise requests and track them. HR stops being the bottleneck for routine changes and spends its time on the exceptions.
The Workday Inbox
Every task that needs someone’s action — an approval, a review, a form to complete — lands in that person’s inbox. This is how a business process moves from step to step, and where an HR user spends much of the working day.
Workday Mobile
The same inbox, approvals and requests are available through the Workday mobile app, so a manager can approve leave or a candidate offer without being at a desk.
Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
Workday is hosted in the cloud and accessed through a browser. The company does not install or maintain servers, and updates are delivered to all customers by Workday itself. That is why the interface an HR team uses in Bengaluru is the same one used in the company’s other offices.
Why Companies Run HR on Workday HCM
Large organisations adopt Workday for a practical reason: it puts HR, recruiting, talent, compensation, benefits, time tracking, payroll and learning into a single system with one employee record. When an employee is hired, promoted, transferred or exits, the change flows through every connected module instead of being re-keyed into five separate tools.
For an HR professional, three consequences follow:
- Employers that run Workday hire for it by name. “Workday experience” appears as a requirement or a preference in HR operations, HRIS, recruitment and payroll roles at enterprises and global capability centres in India.
- The skills transfer. The concepts you learn in Workday — supervisory organisations, business processes, positions and job profiles, eligibility rules — are the same concepts every enterprise HRIS is built on. Our HRIS course page explains that wider category.
- It is hard to learn without access. Workday is not free software you can download and practise on at home. Structured training with guided practice is the realistic way to build working familiarity before your first Workday job.
Workday’s Position in the Gartner Magic Quadrant

Workday is placed in the Leaders Quadrant, the most desirable position in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Cloud HCM (Human Capital Management) Suites, reflecting a high ability to execute (strong product performance, customer satisfaction, cloud infrastructure and implementation capability) and a strong completeness of vision (cloud-native architecture, AI and analytics integration, and a mobile-first HR experience).
Why Workday Stands Out
Compared to competitors like SAP and Oracle:
- Pure Cloud Architecture — built cloud-native from the start, which means faster updates, better scalability, easier maintenance and a modern user experience.
- User-Friendly Experience — employee self-service, simplified workflows, mobile accessibility and intuitive dashboards.
- Unified HCM Platform — HR, recruiting, talent management, payroll, learning, compensation and time tracking in a single integrated system.
- Continuous Innovation — ongoing investment in AI-driven insights, machine learning, workforce analytics, automation and real-time reporting.
What You Learn in IHRA’s Workday HCM Course
IHRA’s Workday HCM training follows the hire-to-retire lifecycle: everything that happens to an employee record from the day a requisition is raised to the day the person leaves. The course is taught by working HR professionals and built around what an HR user actually does in the system, not around implementation consulting. The modules covered:
Core Human Resource Management
Organisational structures and supervisory organisations, staffing models, job profiles and positions, employee lifecycle transactions (hire, transfer, promotion, termination), business process configuration and employee data management.
Recruiting
Job requisitions, candidate management, recruiting workflows and interview management, talent pipelines and recruiting reports — the full cycle from opening a role to moving a candidate to hire.
Compensation & Payroll
Compensation management, payroll processing and administration concepts, how payroll integrations work, and payroll reporting. Taught alongside IHRA’s wider payroll and statutory compliance modules so the Workday screens make sense against Indian payroll practice.
Benefits
Benefit plan set-up, eligibility rules, enrolment events, total rewards and benefits administration.
Time Tracking & Absence
Time entry and attendance, absence requests and leave management, overtime handling and time tracking configuration.
Talent & Performance
Goal management, performance reviews, career development, succession planning, talent reviews and retention analysis.
Workforce Planning & Analytics
Headcount planning and forecasting, workforce analytics, KPI monitoring, organisational reporting and dashboards.
Workday Learning
Learning campaigns and assignments, development plans, and learning reports.
Across all of these you also cover reporting basics, security fundamentals (who can see and do what in the system) and the business-process logic that ties the modules together. Because the Workday training sits inside the I-CGHR, interview preparation, CV building, LinkedIn profile building and IHRA’s AI-powered ATS-friendly resume builder come with it.

Who the Workday HCM Course Is For
- Freshers and graduates who want their first HR role to be at a company that runs an enterprise HRIS, and want to walk in already knowing the system.
- HR executives and generalists whose employer is moving to Workday, or who keep seeing “Workday experience preferred” on the roles they want.
- Recruiters and payroll staff who work one module and want to understand the rest of the record their work feeds into.
- Career switchers from operations, admin, customer support or IT support who want an HR path with a strong systems component. An HRIS or Workday-facing HR operations role is a natural landing point.
- HR professionals outside Bengaluru who cannot find structured Workday HCM training locally and want to take it Live Online.
No prior Workday access is assumed. The course starts from what a supervisory organisation is and builds up.
How Workday Training Fits Inside the I-CGHR
IHRA does not teach Workday in isolation. It is one of the 22+ HR software tools covered in the I-CGHR — Internationally Certified Generalist in Human Resource, IHRA’s flagship 4-month programme. Alongside Workday HCM, the programme covers SAP HCM / SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HRMS, HRIS and payroll software, ATS and recruitment software, PMS software, HR employee survey software, a statutory compliance portal, and AI and automation tools for HR.
That structure matters for two reasons. First, the HR functions themselves — recruitment, onboarding, payroll, statutory compliance, performance management, employee relations — are taught across 60+ modules, so you understand why a Workday business process is built the way it is, not only which button to click. Second, you are not locked to one vendor. If the employer you join runs SAP SuccessFactors instead, you have practised that too.

Workday HCM Certification: What You Actually Receive
Many people search for “Workday HCM certification”, so it is worth being precise about what this course gives you.
- On completing the I-CGHR you are awarded the I-CGHR credential from IHRA, an institute that is internationally affiliated and accredited. Your Workday HCM training is part of that programme and is assessed within it.
- This is not an official certification issued by Workday, Inc. Workday’s own certifications are administered by Workday for its partner and customer ecosystem. IHRA is an HR training institute; we teach you to use the system competently and truthfully describe that as training on Workday HCM.
- What employers weigh at interview is whether you can navigate the system, explain a business process end to end and speak the vocabulary. That is what the course is designed to give you, and it is what the 100% Placement Guarantee is built on.
Workday Training in Bangalore and Live Online Across India
IHRA’s classroom batches run at its campus in Koramangala, Bengaluru — a short distance from the city’s IT corridors, where a large share of India’s Workday-running employers and global capability centres are based. Candidates looking for Workday training in Bangalore can attend in person; the HR courses in Bangalore page covers the campus route.
The same course is delivered as Live Online classes for candidates anywhere in India: the same trainers, the same modules, the same software practice and the same 100% Placement Guarantee. Workday is browser-based software, so nothing in the course depends on being in the room.

Workday HCM Course FAQs
What is Workday HCM?
Workday HCM (Human Capital Management) is a cloud-based HR system used by large organisations to manage the full employee lifecycle — recruiting, hiring, employee records, compensation, benefits, time and absence, payroll inputs, performance, talent and learning — in one platform with a single employee record. HR teams, managers and employees all use it through a browser or the Workday mobile app.
Is IHRA’s Workday HCM course an official Workday certification?
No. IHRA provides practical training on Workday HCM as part of its I-CGHR programme, and you receive the I-CGHR credential from IHRA on completion. Official Workday certifications are issued by Workday itself through its own partner and customer programmes. IHRA’s course prepares you to use the system competently in an HR role; it does not claim to be a Workday-issued certificate.
How long is the Workday HCM course?
Workday HCM is taught inside IHRA’s 4-month I-CGHR programme, alongside 60+ HR modules and 21+ other HR software tools. Admissions can tell you how the Workday sessions are scheduled within the current batch.
Can I take the Workday HCM course online?
Yes. IHRA runs the programme as Live Online classes for candidates across India as well as classroom batches at its Koramangala campus in Bengaluru. Both modes cover the same Workday modules with the same trainers and carry the same 100% Placement Guarantee.
Do I need an HR or IT background to learn Workday HCM?
No. The course starts from the basics of how an HR system is organised and builds up module by module. Because it sits inside the I-CGHR, the HR functions themselves are taught at the same time, so freshers and career switchers can follow it without prior HR or Workday exposure.
Which Workday modules does the course cover?
Core Human Resource Management, Recruiting, Compensation and Payroll, Benefits, Time Tracking and Absence, Talent and Performance, Workforce Planning and Analytics, and Workday Learning — the hire-to-retire lifecycle, plus reporting and security fundamentals.
Does the Workday HCM course include placement?
Yes. The I-CGHR programme that includes the Workday HCM training carries a 100% Placement Guarantee, with interview preparation, CV building, LinkedIn profile building and an AI-powered ATS-friendly resume builder built into the four months.
What salary can I expect after the program?
Salary ranges from around ₹40,000 to ₹1.5 lakh per month based on your profile — your qualification, prior experience, the role you move into and the employer you join.
